I just love the graphics from the Graphic 45 paper collections.  Here are photos from 2 mini journals that I recently made from the Fairie Dust and Garden Goddess collections.  I think they are wonderful gifts for people to keep in their purses or backpacks to write down those thoughts or observations that you want to keep.  These journals are available in my .Etsy store

Graphic 45 journal The Adventure begins

This is the best travel journals I have made. Using the beautiful Graphic 45 Imagine paper. There are all kinds of clever pages inside it ; like a waterfall page.  I worked hard on making this journal clever and filled with different type of  pull outs, tip outs and 3 large book binder rings.  Enjoy the photo;   it is being sold in my Etsy shop;

#Graphic45 Magic Masquerade art journal

I just finished this beautiful handmade art journal using Graphic 45 paper Magic Masquerade.  This paper is so inspiring.  I love the colors and the images.  So here are the photos of some of the pages.  Maybe this will give you some ideas for your own work.

The journal has 42 handmade pages and ties together with a blue satin ribbon.  I love using crystals , metallic paint, stencils and feathers in my work.

#Graphic45 A Ladies’ Diary art journal

I just love Graphic 45 paper.  It always inspires me to create new and beautiful art journals.  This is one that I just completed using the paper called A Ladies’ Diary.

I made this journal using large book binding rings so additional pages can be added.  It started as a vintage map atlas book that I took apart so I could use the covers.  After a lot of gesso, texture paste and spray paint I got to add the fun stuff.  So the crystals, feathers, ribbon roses and chain with charm all came next.

It has 41 pages that have been handmade using paper, cards and images from the Ladies Diary paper package and my vintage papers.  I really enjoyed making this journal and hope that someone special gets to use it.  So please enjoy these pictures and you might get some cool ideas for your own journals.  If you have any questions or comments just leave them below.

Free Tutorial how to make a mixed media junk journal with Graphic 45 Enchanted Forest

Enchanted Forest travel journal

I love making these recycled travel journals and thought I would write up a tutorial on how I made this one.  I started out with the paper;  Enchanted Forest by Graphic 45.  Then I got an old 2 ring book I found at an estate sale.

I used the pages in the binder to measure and cut the paper for the journal.  Most of the paper was white card stock, some of the pages were from the EF ( enchanted forest) paper.

I cut out the princess from the paper and a backing paper for the cover image.

Covered the cover with black card stock and used golden heavy gel gloss and a stencil to texture the cover.

I then painted the dried texture with 4 colors of Lumiere paint and brushed it with a cloth to mute and blend the colors.  

I glued down the background and used foam dots to raise the princess image up on the cover.  I added Swarovski crystals to the image.

Decided to add extra bling on the side of the cover.

Then I went through the pages; distressing the sides and adding handmade pockets and tags.  I cut out some of the images from the Graphic 45 paper to make embellishments.

And I made a small book to tuck into a pocket to put my private thoughts.

New Graphic 45 paper Enchanted Forests arrives

Today I got a new pad of Graphic 45 designer paper from Amazon;  Enchanted Forests.  Be still my heart, it is so exciting for me to open a box with such a happy gift inside of it.  I can imagine all the beautiful art journals and mixed media collages I can make with this pad of exquisite fairies, forests, and color coordinated papers.  ( disclosure; I am not associated with Graphic 45 and I purchased this paper myself ).    After I get through playing with this pad, I will cut up some of the papers to make a paper kit with lots of items from my stash to sell in my etsy shop  ( https://www.etsy.com/shop/LDphotography )  for other people who want to experiment with this fun paper but do not want to go to the expense of purchasing an entire pad.  This is recycling in a fun way and sharing my excitement at getting to use this stunning paper line.Here are two photos of an art journal that I made using some of my Graphic 45 papers.  It is so easy  to create when the papers and images coordinate so well.

starting new 2014 art journal smash book

For the last two years I have started to seriously journal and smash at least once a week.  You would not think that is so hard to do but finding the time and inspiration is sometimes difficult.  Here is the cover of the new journal that I just finished   I made a digital photo background on PSE  then I added some tissue paper to make some layers on the bottom.  I added wood cutouts of people to represent my family, gears, stars and the year 2014.  I painted all of them.  The clock is a metal embellishment and then I put Swarovski crystals to make the cover sparkle.  I put the collage on a piece of vintage paper and added a Graphic 45 ruler on the bottom.  The title of the journal is “2014 ; a year for change and travel”.  We shall see what it brings.  I will try to document the pages here in my blog.  Good luck to you and your families this year.e
